Question by dread head: What is a good certification for personal training?
Can anyone tell me a good certification for personal training? What is the most well known certification? How do I find a good on-line school that has this type of certification? I have found a few, but I am waiting on all the information to come. Penn foster seems to be bad, from post I have found on-line (50/50 results). I am not going to go with them. I need a 100% good program.

Best answer:

Answer by megan
NASM is the best- worst is ACE- most good gyms like equinox won’t take ACE certs. CSCS is the best of best- but you need a degree to apply for it and it specializes in athletic training. But if you have a CSCS- you can get hired anywhere. If you don’t have a degree- I woud do NASM.

What do you think? Answer below!

Personal Training or Outdoor Fitness ? What are the Advantages and Benefits

Personal training or outdoor fitness is a great way to spruce up your health as it is fun and enjoyable unlike being confined in a gym or fitness center. Outdoor physical training is like playing out with friends; we never seem to tire out unlike indoor training where a little exercise can tire us out immensely. This is because Nature has a way of refreshing and rejuvenating our minds along with our bodies keeping us fresh to tackle the day’s activities.

Another big advantage of personal training or outdoor fitness is that very less equipment is required when compared to the expensive gym machines. This also helps you to keep costs down instead of paying the heavy membership fees of the fitness centers. Outdoor training programs are also suitable for people of any age group especially the senior citizens. It does not have to be anything elaborate; even a brisk walk or a jog amidst the beautiful greenery of Nature or on a beach with soft waves lapping about can immediately refresh your mind and body.

Personal training or outdoor fitness also lets you meet new people and make lasting friends unlike gyms and fitness centers which have a boring and claustrophobic atmosphere. If you are not interested in group training, you can hire a personal trainer to guide you in your outdoor fitness plan. Most sportspersons as well as those who take fitness very seriously prefer getting a trainer as they require expert guidance on the different types of exercises.

Personal training or outdoor fitness regimens are also a great option for those who want to shed weight but have difficulty in doing so. Most often, people who do not like to exercise find the gym atmosphere boring and dull which puts them off all the more from training. But when out in the open, the mind gets to relax and rejuvenate which boosts the morale and is a source of inspiration to exercise and keep good health.

You can either create a personal training or outdoor fitness plan for yourself with a brief warming up followed by jogging and pushups. But if you want a more professional approach, then it is best to get registered with a trainer or agency which specializes in outdoor exercises and training. Another big advantage of outdoor training is that there is no specific timing and you can exercise whenever you find the time. Having said that, it is best though to exercise in the mornings or in the evenings when the sun’s rays are not harmful.

So if you are looking for an interesting way to shed those extra kilos or want to enjoy good health naturally, then turn to personal training or outdoor fitness programs. This is fun and enjoyable and helps to be healthy and feel good and rejuvenated at the same time. Nature is the greatest healer and an outdoor training plan is your first step towards keeping fit and healthy.

I know the basics of weightloss, you eat less than you burn and you lose weight. but for the past week i have been eating 1200 calories a day avg and burned around 500 a day, but the scale havent budged. however i realized that mostly i eat light cheese with bread, and not really balanced meals. could that be whats affecting my weight loss? should i not eat so much cheese/fat and more carbs? do the sources of calories really affect weightloss that much?

Best answer:

Answer by Reina A
I’m going to say to you what I answered to a previous question: I’m not an expert on this topic but I do know a bit about it. The best way for you to fully understand it is research.
You need to first determine whether you’re overweight or not. If you’re active, you should weigh more than being inactive. Muscle weighs more than fat. Height:weight. If you’re taller, you should weigh more. If you’re older, I believe you should weigh more aswell. Take a BMI and determine whether you’re an apple or pear shaped.
You need to include in your diet metabolism boosting meals. Cut back on the sugars (it’s 15 cals a teaspoon) and replace soda and sugary drinks with water. Water has no calories and it’s good for you.
Eat lots of vegetables, they’re low calorie and fill you up. They’re also metabolsim boosting (or so my agent told me). Cheese and bread is also something they made us eat when I was in basketball to buff up. Along with pasta and stuff. Cheese is also pretty high cal too. Especially when you start eating it and can’t stop, like how I am. lol. I don’t want to give you any false information here, but I think is has something to do with carbs. Not sure.
I believe also, when you’re working out, drinks lots of water. When you do cardio workouts, you burn more carbs and less fat. Same applies to contemplative thinking. That’s why we all get hungry so much at school. I think slow, repetitive exercises burn more fat that cardio workouts, though these should be included in your workout schedule. If you’re still concerned over your weight, talk to a nutritionist or your doctor. And trust what they say. They don’t say you’re not overweight to make you feel better =p

What do you think? Answer below!
